MEET THE TEAM
John is the founder of JDW Fitness and has been coaching and personal training since 2013. A passionate off-road runner, cyclist, and kettlebell specialist, John leads by example—living out the strength and conditioning principles he instills in his clients.
With a focus on building a strong and resilient body, John’s training philosophy centres on injury prevention and enhancing cardiovascular health through intelligent programming and consistent movement. He has completed two 100-mile ultramarathons (Lakeland 100 in 2022 and 2023), alongside numerous other endurance events that speak to his dedication and experience.
John has an in-depth understanding of biomechanics and offers detailed postural assessments and movement analysis, helping clients optimise performance, avoid injury, and get the most out of every session.

Nicky brings a wealth of experience in endurance sports and rehabilitation to her practice. With a strong background in swimming and having qualified as a personal trainer in 2018, she has gone on to complete three 70.3 middle-distance triathlons, a 55-mile ultra run in 2022, and a 5.25-mile swim across Lake Coniston in 2023.
As a qualified Level 4 Sports Massage Therapist (SMT), Nicky combines hands-on therapy with a deep understanding of strength and conditioning. Her own journey managing a persistent knee issue has shaped her holistic approach to recovery—drawing on massage therapy, strength work, Yoga, and Reformer Pilates as essential tools for rehabilitation.
Nicky is currently working towards her Level 5 Sports Therapy qualification to further deepen her expertise and support clients in achieving long-term recovery and performance goals.
